Activities

A vast range of activities are avaiable to members daily from exercises to bridge. Please see diary /calandar page for more details.

Volunteers

We have a wide variety of volunteering opportunitites for anyone wishing  to 'give something back' to their community.  Our reception area is open from 9.30am - 4pm weekdays  and is the first port of call for all our visitors.  Volunteers staff the front desk and answer all the telephone calls, they book members in for lunch and sell a few 'shop' items. The duty is split into two shifts morning or afternoon with two people at any one time. Our snack bar is also staffed by volunteers and our meals service uses volutnary help to serve our diners and help with clearing up. Most of the activities are led by volunteers too. You do not have to commit to a regular session to offer help, all help, however small, is all gratefully received and much appreciated.

Management Committee

The Woodhatch Community Association is the management committee who oversee's the running of the Woodhatch Centre. The WCA is a registered Charity no. 295011.  The management committee consists of the Chair and Vice Chair, secretary, treasurer and a number of committee members.  The committee is made up of members and users of the facility, local councillors and community leaders and meets quarterly.

The AGM is held in June and is an open meeting for all members.

Coach trips and Holiday's

From spring through to autumn, coach trips are organsied for members.  Details of outings are advertised in our own publication, Woodhatch Words, and a booking day is held at the beginning of the season.  This does not mean if you book later you will not get a place, it just encourages people to book early and spreads the cost.

The Centre usually operates three holidays per year.  One in May, one in September and a 'Turkey and Tinsel' in November.  These can also be secured with a deposit and the payments spread over a few months.
